ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Parent support is essential to a child’s success within the classroom. Here are tips that parents can use at home.
- Limit your child’s time in front of the television. Research has proven that children who have limited time on the television are much better readers than those who have no time restraints when watching television.
- Encourage reading in the household.
- Check your child’s homework.
- Check Skyward daily to check on your child’s grade and assignments.
- Contact your child’s teachers, even if you think your child is doing well.
- Provide opportunities for your child to write.
- Use a wide vocabulary when you speak. The more words a child is exposed to, the larger their vocabulary becomes.
